Nagios XI Administration Training Course
Nagios XI is enterprise server and network monitoring software.
In this instructor-led, live training, participants will learn how to set up and operate Nagios XI as they step through process of managing Linux and Windows servers in a series of hands-on live-lab exercises.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Install and configure Nagios XI
- Monitor Windows and Linux machines
- Use Nagios XI Interface including all it’s features such as dashboards, reports etc.
- Perform administrating tasks, including backing up, restoring, and scheduling downtime of Nagios XI.
Duration
- 20 hours (Ideally 5 hours per day)
- 8.00 AM – 1.00 PM
Course Contents
Day 1
- Nagios XI architecture
Overview of Nagios, Downloading Nagios, Installing Nagios XI. - Nagios XI Interface
Dashboards, Maps, Hosts, host groups, services, service groups, wizards.
Day 2
- Reports
Standard Executive Summary Reports, Host and Service Availability Reports. - Monitoring Linux servers
Installation and configuration of NCPA agent to monitor Linux servers.
Day 3
- Monitoring Windows servers
Installation and configuration of NCPA agent to monitor Windows servers. - Nagios alerts and notifications
Creating on-Screen Alerts and email notifications.
Day 4
- Core config manager
Editing individual hosts and services.
- Backup and restore
Nagios backup and restore process. Restoring previous configuration snapshots using core config manager.
